This is a lesson I have worked hard to teach my children. They are now young adults with young children, and I believe they are living their lives according to this principle. How I wish our government would do the same! I stay awake at night, thinking about the burden they are saddled with as a result of irresponsible “leaders.”
It is the ant and the grasshopper story – as old as time itself. Why must those who have lead their lives responsibly pay the debts for those who have not??

Well said. Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, pretty much addresses this type of thinking of socialism, in her novel. Finally the producers, inventors all just quit and leave their society to implode on itself!

I do enjoy your encouragement, yet there is something about this that I need clarification on. Social Justice, to me, is helping those who do not have a voice or are being abused and need someone to stand up for them. Example: women who are abused, human trafficking, those who are not given what they have earned. Welfare is not social justice, enabling people is not social justice. Those things are socializm and maybe you should use a different example or wording. People who earn do have a responsibility to help those who have a hard time helping themselves. Taking time to help others gives you more purpose and drive to continue to do what you are good at. I think we need more social justice and less socialism. Plus social justice is privately run and socialism is state run.

I love this! I look back at the things that did not succeed and now I am thankful that some of them did not work out. My past had a direct correlation to my present. I worked at different types of businesses as early as 8 picking up pop bottles, mowing yards & I even had a candy selling business in school. These eventual failures or limited success opportunities helped me to move on to other opportunities & then to others. They made me who I am today & I like who I am today! But the question is who will I be tomorrow as a result of the limitations of today?

I can relate to this personally. I was so afraid of succeeding/failing for so long that I would subconsciously sabatage all the good progress. I would relax at the time we had the most momentum or get distracted by the next new thing and take my attention off what was already working. Momentum requires a tremendous amount of energy up front to produce but requires consistency to maintain. I think often I became an anchor instead of a engine. Still working on being a Hero daily!
