The Science of Fear

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

I’ve been reading this book called the Science of Fear.

In it, the author reveals the approach that advertisers and politicians use to get us to take action.  They create a problem/crisis/fear and say they will save you from it.

In a world where people are safer and healthier than ever, they have to create a problem, distort statistics, exaggerate, edit the data and scare you into thinking that life without them will be horrible.  They of course, are the answer.

This means when you expose yourself to their messages, you are being bombed with the idea that the world is not good and you are at risk.

Can you see that is happening wholesale today?

Todd

Oh how true that is!!!! I only hope people can see what is happening.

Frank Barbieri

How true…

William Madelung

I wish the world could see this message…

Keith Hart

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain”
Frank Herbert, Dune (Dune Chronicles, #1)

Tom Fricker

Never seen it worse. We as a society are living so well compared to our ancestors. But the media make you think the world is coming to an end, despicable really

Willis Ponds

You hit the nail on the head. Trillions of dollars worth of fear has been dished out this year. It’s an absolute shame.
