Stress – is it bad?

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Stress is what arises when something you care about is at stake.  Therefore, it’s impossible to live a meaningful life without it.

Get excited, use your head, and make something good happen.

You can.

Your body undergoes chemical changes when stressed- to prepare you for “fight or flight”. This is a good thing- you can deal with what is facing you. However, ongoing anxiety can have negative effects on your body. The trick is to be able to recognize the source of stress and manage it appropriately and use it to your advantage.

I lived a fairly stressful life because I always pushed myself over the limits because I knew if anybody than I can handle it until I realized I was systematically killing myself. So I learned to strive for balance instead striving for control. Control is useless if there is no balance. Until we learn to accept that our possessions and even our body is not who we are it is challenging but if I survived two wrist surgeries, an acl reconstruction, falls, sprains, torn muscles, battles, uncomfortable encounters and situations, pain is just another sign of being alive. Another day to make a difference. An way or another the universe always provides.
