The Problem Behind the Problem

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

What’s your #1 problem right now?  Your current constraint – the limiting factor preventing you from getting to your goals?

Ok, now ask, what is the underlying problem?  What’s the problem behind the problem?  What problem(s) is causing the problem?

Larry,

I was so busy trying to absorb all that you were teaching at the School of Entrepreneurship back on the 18th, that I didn’t even see your greeting until today. Thanks!

For anyone else reading this note, if you are serious about growing your business (quickly), check out thesoe.com. Larry has put modules together which address every aspect of running/growing a service business. The simplicity of each module is genius…implementing changes in only a few areas can make major changes in your business and your life!

Periodic reconciliation and inspecting who is keeping track of all the reports was the problem. Month end is never fun but the billing has to get done. During this time my mind only thinks about the numbers and usually this is when I tend to need help the most. Fun fun fun, life goes on and the cycles somehow seem to get shorter and shorter. On average we knock the billing out in a day and a half but we spend a total of 3 days on it including preparation and all the final touches.
