Urgency and Deadlines = Productivity

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

If a flood was coming, you get the sandbag wall built NOW.  If you’re having a party tomorrow night, you get the house clean NOW.  If the paper is due tomorrow, you get it done NOW.  It’s amazing what you can get done when you HAVE to.

But the opposite is true.  The idea that we have plenty of time lulls our brain into low gear and delays action.  The most productive people create self-imposed deadlines.  They expect a lot out of themselves – and they get it.

Are you moving your agenda forward with urgency every day?

Chris Kiley

I think that is called convention mode! Everyday, convention mode, its amazing how much we accomplish in such a short time every year!

Al Dingfelder

So true; now I paraphrase another Larry … “Get er done”.
