Credit card debt is free…

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

…if you pay it off each month.  If you don’t, and you just pay the minimum, you’ll be in debt forever and pay many times your charges in interest.

Credit cards are useful when you don’t have cash on you or have a surprise necessity.  But when you use them as a long term loan, that’s big trouble for you.

If you have credit card debt, stop spending.  Stop shopping, stop eating out, stop movies and entertainment.  Spend that time earning more money and pay off your debt – it will be far cheaper for you that way.

If you can’t discipline yourself, you can’t blame the credit card company’s for the financial pain that awaits you.

That’s a great explanation…it’s a tool, not magic.

Your statements are correct. Since I am a Dave Ramsey fan, I would rather not use credit cards at all. It perhaps could have conveyed your thoughts better if your headline had a ? at the end. But then again you may have been aiming for facetious. :>)
