On Ignorance
Many people use the word ignorant to mean "stupid". Of course, it doesn't mean stupid, it means "unaware because of a lack of relevant information or knowledge". We are all ignorant of something. In fact, there is so much to know about so many things these days, that we…
Boredom is your fault
It's not the world's job to entertain, excite or stimulate you. Don't be boring. Get up and get after it.
Be like a postage stamp
I have been successful at a lot of things. Yes, I have quit things I should not have started when I realized it. But everything I have been successful at was difficult at some point - or maybe the whole way. So difficulty alone is not a sign you should…
Jealousy and Envy
If we are jealous or envious of others, we will never give them a chance. Our ego hates it. They are making it look bad. We will look for how they are wrong, undeserving, and work to make them look bad and fail. If someone is jealous or envious of…
What if everyone did that?
I am developing a hypothesis for determining what is right and what is wrong relative to civics. I ask "What if everyone in the world did that?" If the answer is that civilization would collapse (or get worse), then it is wrong. If the answer is the world would be…
The never-changing nature of man
I am a man. We are, and always have been brutish, lazy, lustful gluttons; and lots of other not-so-nice things. It's how we are wired to survive. To rise above these natural qualities, we must be taught a code of character that we adopt as more important to us. We…
Use it or lose it
"A lot of human potential is unrealized" - Michael Dell If you don't do anything different, what part of you will be unused when you are done here?
Right answers
Nobody goes around saying they are wrong. They are right. If they thought they weren't right, they'd change their minds until they know they are right. Right answers may change. Today it's right, but tomorrow it's wrong based on new information or circumstances. What's right for me is not for…
Positive Thinking Part 2
Positive thinking won't allow you to do anything, but it will allow you to do everything better than negative thinking will. What is your default way of thinking - especially about challenges?
Think positively
"It's not going to happen. They are all booked up. We'll never get this" she said, obviously disappointed and worried. He smiled and looked at her. "Everything will work out. I know it." The next day, the phone rang. It was good news...

Love it! I feel it too, The onion has many layers. As soon as you think you’re the expert, you simply find out otherwise!
Yes, to a degree
I’m not afraid to admit when I might be out of my depth because it usually opens the door for me to learn new things and get me out of my comfort zone. And I’m always open to being corrected, but you better be able to back up your claims, haha. Happy Friday!
I’m so ignorant, I don’t even know what I don’t know.
I heard one years ago that still rings true today: “Everyone is your superior at something”. I try and teach my children and children that I coach this mentality.
Yes. “Acceptance is the first step in moving forward.”
In todays world ignorance equals bliss
To me every day is a challenge. I know every day I am able to open my eyes is a day of learning.
One of my greatest frustrations in my life is that “I don’t know what I don’t know “. When someone kindly says I’m good at something. I say I’m not, because it suggests I have “arrived” or achieved. My response is that I am still on my learning journey, whatever path it takes. Enjoy your day.
Crazy can be medicated, ignorance can be educated… But there’s no cure for stupid.
If you know you know; you don’t know.
If you know you don’t know, you know.
Hayek stressed the inevitable ignorance of most of us about most things. https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/coping-with-ignorance-july-1978/
Admitting our ignorance is the first step towards learning. I have always done well by asking others what they know, regardless of what I thought I already knew on the subject. Observe, ask, study and we will be smarter and wiser because of it.
