Many leaders think they need to know everything. They think others should think they are smart and have the answers.
So, to hide the fact that they are not as smart as people may think or hope, or to avoid embarrassment, they do not ask enough questions.
They do not want to reveal their ignorance.
The best leaders do not care about how they look. They care more about progress and getting the right answers now. They do not care that the answers did not come from them, or whether anyone else knows about it.
I’d rather have NO answers and be great at asking questions and building teams of other smart people, than try to have ALL the answers myself and be the central communication switch for all approvals and answers.
