The Wealth Gap

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

They talk about the wealth (or income) gap widening.  When you compare the top to the bottom, it should be widening!

That’s because the bottom is zero wealth or close to it.  The people at the bottom are doing things that are bad for their wealth, or not doing anything that is good for it – and they keep doing those things.

The top people keep doing the things that are good for their income/wealth and since the world economy is expanding, they are the ones to make it happen.

The good news is there is nothing stopping the people from the bottom from moving up.

The question is will you, or won’t you?

That of course is entirely up to you.

I agree, it’s really frustrating when people complain about having nothing when it’s right out there for the taking. All they have to do is get busy going after it.

Wow, what a grossly and dealing oversimplification of people who are struggling to make ends meet and are in poverty! I am shocked and dismayed at this post.

The wealth gap that so many sources quote is also greatly exaggerated because it doesn’t include government “transfer payments” & federal income taxes in the calculations. Economist Phil Grahm & John Early have written extensively on this. For example, in my state if your household incomr is umder 68k your child goesc to our leading flagship university
100 percent for free. Im not minimizing challenges of less fortunate but poor people in our country are wealthy by world standards because of this wealth effect. We need high economic growth at all costs to lift everyone’s standard of living.

After reading and getting to know about you Larry, I feel that we are very kindred. I feel in this instance that my opinion differs a little bit. When you look at different groups of animals and insects. Most people are able to look at a colony of ants and say those are two different types of ants but at the end of the day, the goal is the same. To make the colony better. I believe that the unique gifts that I’ve been given are for not just the betterment of myself but the betterment of society. Without naivety and need, we would not have the backbone in this country we need. You have done an exquisite job of lifting up the working class of our society.
