The best performing, most successful people work all the time they are at work. People who do the least and take advantage of any opportunity for idle chit chat and social media are not likely to be considered for more opportunity and advancement.
That makes sense, right?

– People who care go to their job to work – Do as much as they can for what they get and get what they deserve.

There is another side to this. Some of us can be “workaholics”, and in looking back, my many 60 hour weeks were a bit taxing. I traveled in my job, always had to go to the “hot spots” and fix things. I would get take out, bring back to hotel, and work till bedtime. In looking back, I would cut back a little; insist on more help; and do a better job at negotiating my salary. But I did love my career- and gave it all I had- in true Janesky fashion!
