Trusting people

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

The trust of the innocent is the liars most useful tool.  People who trust everyone are open to deceit.

But people who trust no one are closed to beautiful and productive relationships and love.

I think we need to trust most people, and lightly scan for those we can’t.

And don’t deal fractionally, with those you can’t trust fully.

I refuse to let ugly people transform me into one of them

I read a quote once that said ” People are not anti you, they are just pro-themselves.” Kind of the way it should be. So in general most people decent enough, but then there are those ones……..

Yes! Your absolutely right! Being too trust worthy can get you in trouble sometimes and people sometimes take advantage of your good nature! But never lose trust in God!

Thank you Larry.Such practical wisdom is a great tool for happiness! My parents always said it like this…”Be good to all, trust a few and always paddle your own canoe”

Before I moved to America my dad asked one of his employers, the city chief police officer, to help us with a favor (Romania being corrupt and all). I quickly needed a passport to show at the US Embassy in Bucharest. The favor required a form of trade which made me feel disgusted but it was the entry price to America so it was all worth it. The trade stayed hush hush and no one ever found out about it except my husband because he was my friend and I needed to tell someone. Thinking back there were a million ways to get around the situation but it was a lesson. I am still a trusting person but I learned to listen and trust my instincts above anything else.
