Technology disruption –
Just as you can get a map without buying a map, a light without buying a flashlight, a video recorder without buying a video camera, you can get a college education without buying into a college. All you need is a laptop and an internet connection – oh yeah, and you have to want to learn.
Bye-bye flashlight, bye-bye (most) colleges.

While I agree there is a lot of information to be found online I am thankful for my son’s college education which will allow him to pursue his dream of being an inner city English teacher. My daughter who spends her day using her Masters in Social Work helping young families get the help they need for their special needs children and my other daughter who spent 7 years in college earning a doctorate in physical therapy so that she can help people recover from injuries and improve their quality of life. For some, college is a must. For my oldest son who is a machinist college was not a necessity so I’m equally thankful for the people who enter the trades.
