What your boss wants to see from you

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

If you have a job that is repetitive (customer service, production, sales etc.) doing a great job year over year is what your boss wants to see.  But if you have any kind of management/development/leadership job, your boss knows that the same effort gets the same results – and that’s not how companies grow.

You need to find new and better ways of getting better, deeper, more meaningful results.  If you don’t, you are taking up a management/development/leadership position of someone who will – and that makes you vulnerable.

Better take it on…

Larry,
As the New Year starts and I search for ways to do a better job I always enjoy and try to learn from your thoughts, this is a particularly useful one as I try to grow our business and change what I do. What’s the best book you’ve read that might help me?
Thanks for the daily thoughts.

Will
