I have had a conversation with my now young adult kids on this theme (when they were teenagers and struggling to be more independent). Thankfully, they listened and figured out the cost of freedom.
Still figuring out how to get the same message sent to our employees.

Freedom is not free because there is always a price we have to pay. But the choice is ours and no one else is responsible for our choices and actions.
