Soda kills
The Coca-Cola company kills people. Actually it's people who drink soda habitually that are committing suicide with soda. There is always a choice. I know too many people who drink a liter bottle each day and got diabetes, etc. So, I have to call it like it is. Don't drink…
Internal Scorecard
Don't keep the definition of success or fulfillment outside you - based on what other people think. You have to be the judge of whether you are doing well or thriving, and no one else. Now certainly, in a great paradox, if many people think you are a scumbag, then…
F.A.I.L. – First Attempt in Learning
You know why I am so good at what I do? I have failed at it and versions of it many times. I had to in order to get better. So next time you screw it up, know that it's part of getting better. Learn and keep going. (Oh yea,…
The only real risk
We think this is risky or that is risky. But the only real risk is that we run out of time.
Useful Preceeds Important
If you are not useful, you are less important in the world. If you are useful, especially very useful, you will be more important. Can you produce results and solve problems well?
Make it happen!
Some people talk more than they do. Some people do, and do it well and get results. Being a thought leader is ok, but far better - being a results leader. Show us you can - solve problems get important things done make things happen bring out the best in…
The #1 obstacle to gratitude
Gratitude is an amazing thing. If you are grateful for something, you will get more of it. It works in ways large and small, with people and the world around you. For example, if you do something small for someone and they show gratitude to you, and you more likely…
Why would you cheat YOURSELF?
Don't cheat others. Most good people know this. It's immoral, and wrong and leads to bad outcomes and habits of cheating others. So why would you cheat yourself? Eating poorly, skipping that workout, not learning something useful today, not doing your best, compromising your standards, doing things you'll regret...that is…
The Alchemist
There is a great book I recommend. I read it years ago. It's called "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. It's a story with lessons. Check it out in hardcover or on audio. Here is a passage - "Man's only obligation is to fulfill his personal legend."

Having worked for Coca-Cola for many years, I can attest that this is a fact. We used to use twenty tanker loads of can syrup per 21 hours of running production in our plant. When there was a leak in a tank and the “product” dripped on the floor, it would eat the concrete under the tank in a day. It’s poison!
And avoid the sugar substitutes to, all of them! They are arguably as bad or worse than sugar. There are other things in these drinks that are also toxic to our bodies such as the food colorings.
Agreed!!! Don’t drink your calories. In addition to soda, drinking coffee with sugar and cream from DD and Starbucks is horrible. Some of these drinks have a ridiculous number of calories from sugar and fat. Don’t get me started on the cost per cup, per day, per week…
Larry,
Off topic but I recently experienced the pain of my spouse having an affair. It has blown my life, family, annd business apart and rebuilding life is now a full time job. The most painful thing I’ve experienced and never prepared for.
If people think it won’t happen to them they are more susceptible and no one trains for it until it happens.
Please warn people of the dangers of affairs and not investing into their marriage with as much tenacity as the rest of their lives!
Agreed. Cut soda and all the other sugary drinks from your daily diet. (Ok, I may need a little iced tea with sugar in the summer!)
Good morning Larry, Good advice! I stopped drinking soda over 20 years ago, not sure the exact effect on my health but Im sure the effect was a positive one.

Love your blog today! Reducing sugar intake is key to a healthy gut and microbiome. Women- 24 grams/day- men- 29. Read the labels on what you are eating and drinking. Sugar feeds the bad bacteria, which cause inflammation throughout your body, leading to many illnesses.
The only one of these that I disagree with you is orange juice. The vitamin C is just too important especially during the winter.
I really agree with this!! And not falling into the trap of thinking that “Sugar Free” Options are healthy for you… because I have personal hand experience regarding how bad that decision is for you as well. Choosing truly healthy decisions every day, as much as possible, is key and we do have a choice.
