Nothing hurts your reputation in someone’s eyes like them hearing you talk bad about them or spread gossip.
But getting caught talking well of a person is acceptable to anyone.
Talk well of people behind their back.

Recently I overheard a friend talking bad about a mutual friend. It pretty much told me all I needed to know about the friend talking bad about our mutual friend. When the trust is broken, it’s never the same. I spend my time building up the people I care about.
