Top performers don’t wait for motivation.
Motivation is fleeting. You can’t just make it show up whenever you want. And when it comes, it is often chased away when it touches the boundaries of your comfort zone, or when it feels the work is hard.
Instead, use self-discipline. Predetermine what you will do today, tomorrow, this week, whenever, and stick to it with self-discipline.
Now you don’t have to think about it. The decision has been made.
And you don’t lie to yourself. You come through – every time.
Self-discipline is a habit. Habits are made to make things easier – and they do.
When it’s time to perform, you’ve got this – it’s a habit forged from self-discipline when nobody was watching but you.
Good morning… I find this one to be very interesting. Often times we tend to get in our own heads about things, every single one of those “things” are controllable by us. Sometimes you just have to have a talk with yourself!
“Self-discipline is a habit. Habits are made to make things easier – and they do.” That’s a great line!
In my experience motivation is often driven by something outside of us and beyond our control. Self discipline comes from within and is completely within our control.
YES!
Excellent point.
Go, Riley and DryZone!
This may sound silly, but I always like to determine early in the morning, what I will make for dinner. Then I don’t have to think about it again for the rest of the day!
