First we make our habits, then our habits make us.
A breakthrough demands a radical departure from our habits.
Stop doing what you always did and start doing something new.
Bedtime, coffee, social media, moving your body, gratitude calls daily, who you put around you, where you go each day…
Substitute your old routine for a new routine.
New habits, new you.
What is not serving your major goal? What would?
What can you change today?
This is good advice. Towards this end I highly recommend “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. I also recommend subscribing to his “3-2-1” newsletter. It isn’t as informative as Think Daily (in my opinion) but there are good nuggets to be had!
Great Think Daily!
Journaling has helped me tremendously with this, already knowing I am a creature of habit and routine focused in nature, I found that putting a pen to paper has expedited the positive changes I’ve been trying to make. Especially when going back to read my task vs what my goals are!
I absolutely love this, I’ve had to break several bad habits by forming new healthy habits, and the most important thing is to stick with it! How many people start the new year off going to the gym but fall off a month or two in?
Set yourself up to succeed with things you’ll enjoy and you’ll WANT to keep it going!
I am able to drop something that eats my time and wastes my energy. I find that often when I drop something with nothing to turn to, my mind frantically tries to fill the void with options. From an external view I am sure I look very anxious. However, I enjoy the chaotic process of refining who I am. This time around, something is different. I’m literally watching my mind expand and evolve before my eyes. Today something is different. I feel the spiritual impact on myself and I know something good is amiss. All because a few months ago, I dropped another habit that was leeching energy from my future. In hindsight though, these breakthroughs started much more in advance. “What am I to build?”
