Different jobs require different mindsets. If you have someone in a job with the wrong mindset for that position, it won’t go well.
Some jobs require a person to be very detail oriented and precise. Other jobs require them to blast through obstacles and get stuff done. Other jobs require a great deal of caring and the ability to show it. Other jobs require someone to do repetitive tasks over and over and over without losing enthusiasm. Other jobs require a person to solve problems, one after the next all day, long without losing their cool.
You have to get the right person for that job. If you have made a hiring mistake, you must fix it rather than coach, wrangle, and argue with the wrong person, wishing they were different.
Get the right people for the job.

Larry, this was perfect timing for a situation we are having. You are always on point and we totally appreciate you!!
Good morning, Chicago! Today is your day, go get ’em!
I know that guy! As a person who is playing a different role at the moment, I can attest that having the right mindset at the right time and place is key to success. I would also add that it’s important to keep your head on a swivel, even if you think you can trust a top tier person. The old saying, inspect, what you expect.
