When do I feel I have had a great day?
It’s not when I have an easy day. It’s not when I got some good news – though that is nice too.
When I feel I had a great day is when I invested my time well to make tomorrow better.
It’s when I have made progress on a “legacy project” – work that will make a difference tomorrow.
When tomorrow (and next month and next year) comes, my company and team will be benefiting from the work I did today.
It could be recording some great training. Video. A new product. Making something better. A key hire or moving someone to the right seat.
As a leader, I do not want to be doing things that will not matter tomorrow.
I must leverage my time into things that make a difference tomorrow.
That means discipline, delaying gratification, seeing things right, going right at problems, and knowing either what to do or who can do it.
Make today matter tomorrow.
Keep doing that and 20 years from now looks pretty damn good for you.
I am not sure you can really put a value on it. If you take it to heart and really “Think Daily” on the insights of what you are sharing, this is priceless. I am grateful to you for taking the time to do this.
Great as usual. KEEP waking up peoples ear for their highest calling/////
This is exactly how I feel too! A good day is when I moved the needle in the right direction. When I make progress, real progress, in the direction of my goals and aspirations, that’s one of the best feelings in the world!
