Carpe Diem

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Most people know Carpe Diem means “sieze the day” in Latin.  It comes from the Roman poet Horace, who wrote it over 2000 years ago.

It is a reminder that today is the only day you truly have control over.

Don’t put off important conversations, meaningful work, acts of kindness, or taking the most important steps toward your goals because tomorrow is not guaranteed.

In modern terms, carpe diem means –

Make today count.

Don’t let fear or procrastination steal your opportunities.

Be fully present in the moment.

Take action instead of waiting for the “perfect” time.

Carpe diem!
