The ultimate luxury of a modern world

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

The ultimate luxury of a modern world is the gift of unhurried time.

Wealth may be determined by doing what you want, when you want.

Then there are the years when you are raising young children, which is wealth in itself if you have the right mindset during those years.

If you are an out-of-control business owner who is working too many hours to make up for your misdefining your own job, you do not have unhurried time.

I love unhurried time.  It’s when I can be creative, and when I can make my environment what I want it to be.  It’s how I stay sane.

It’s important not to schedule all your time every day and not to overcommit to people, events, or duties.

Unhurried time – do you have enough of it?

Such a paradox. “The ultimate luxury of a modern world is the gift of unhurried time.” The modern world has created more material luxuries than ever before, but has decreased leisure time (for most people). Hunter-gatherers 50,000 years ago had more unhurried time than we do today.

Working on it. It is requiring that I delegate more day to day tasks so that I can open myself up for more opportunity for “me” time…. It takes time to teach, train and for them to do things exactly as I’d like without too much hovering and getting the rest of the team on board with my decisions for this opperations manager position. But it is necessary to work on the most important tasks.

I LOVE this! Thank You, Larry!
And thank you for laying it out so well before your subscribers – as you always do!
Enjoy your unhurried time today.
I’m going to work on not hurting through my unhurried time to get to the next hurried thing I’ve committed to – LOL!!

See, I hurried that and had a typo 😄
Baby steps… 😉
