20% of the drinkers drink 80% of the beer.
20% of the drivers have 80% of the accidents.
20% of the criminals commit 80% of the crimes.
And 20% of what you do get 80% of the results.
20% of what you sell makes 80% of the gross profit.
20% of your customers give you 80% of the business.
80% of your problems come from 20% of your work/employees.
You get the idea.
So, knowing this, if you could focus on the 20% that gets 80% of the results, and get rid of the rest, you can leverage your results.
Maybe you 80/20 YOUR role. Focus on the 20% and delegate the rest.
Many people work hard. They are just working on lower value work – things that don’t move the needle even if you did them well and worked long hours on them.
Think.
What are the most valuable things you do?
How about your company?
Make more time to focus on them by letting go of the lower-value stuff.
When we learn volume isn’t value everything shifts. Leverage comes from identifying the few activities that actually move the business forward and doubling down on them. Having the discipline to let go of the low value work and protect the high value work. That’s where impact, clarity, and scale come from.
