An interesting thing about self-control, many people have a healthy dose of it in many areas of their lives but then slip in a few other areas. Those few areas of slippage can have a major impact on our lives.

Self-control (or will power) can be inconsistent and unreliable. Habits and routines are stronger, so building them around areas that are known to be non beneficial temptations is added protection.
