The media’s (mainstream and social) job is to entertain you and hold your attention.
Your job is to ignore them.
Don’t be a tool.
Use that time for much better purposes in your life.

I used to follow the news to try and keep informed, but it presents itself now as entertainment— like rooting for a favorite football team and dressing up in various colors and and yelling ” yea my team team— boo the other team”. So I have taken your advice and simply left it all behind and am not missing out on anything valuable.
