Your greatest strengths emerge when they are forced out of you; when you HAVE to do things you wouldn’t normally do, or do yet.
A crisis reveals what you can do when you have to.
And now that you know, the fence you constructed in your mind gets moved out.
What crisis in your life had you doing things you’d never have done otherwise?
“This is not happening to me, it’s happening for me.” – Sean Stephenson
Awaken is a great word for it. We can often live unconsciously until we have to deal with the conscious.
I’ve encountered a few crises in my life, and have heard, ‘I don’t know how you handle it’ more times than I can count. That’s the thing: you don’t think you can handle it until you have to – you have no choice. An old colleague of mine said, “you take off your cap, put it on backwards, and dive in!” What’s the alternative?
This is so true. We find our inner strength when a crisis happens.
Truth! I now get just a little excited when some “crisis” happens because I can’t wait to see how it’s resolved and all of the growth that will happen in me and others. When a crisis arises the most important thing is to meet it head on with resolute determination to solve it and get through it. We will be better for it if we tackle it with the right attitude!
