When someone makes a mistake, what do you do?
When someone doesn’t know something, what do you say?
When something embarrassing happens to someone, how do you react?
When someone has a problem or needs help, what is your attitude toward them?
Offer them dignity.
People will remember those who were kind and understanding to them when they could have laughed, scoffed, acted superior, or rolled their eyes.
Those people will be your greatest friends and allies.
So true! One of the best gifts of showing dignity and compassion to others is we begin to have it for ourselves. Then it is like your post a few back, we learn to have gratitude for the lessons and the opportunities. Not an excuse or a lack of accountability, but a realization and appreciation.
Excellent message – I agree, though I may be guilty of some eye-rolling …
Don’t eye roll with people in their 20’s and 30’s, help them ramp up for six months. But, people that come out of retirement and return to the workforce in their 60’s and 70’s, and can not grasp simple tasks, are annoying AF.
