
Ask your boss/manager/leader – “What are the top two ways someone like me can add value to you and the company? What are the top ways I can help the organization? Please tell me whether you think I can do it or not.”
What a question! You may have to give your boss a day to think on it and give you the best answer. If you get a real answer, it is the key to your moving up.
If you get the answer and don’t know how to do it, find out! Study. Learn.
Some work is necessary, but can be done by many people.
Some work is highly valuable because it moves the needle, and not many people understand it or know how to do it.
Find out what that valuable work is, and figure out how to deliver it – no matter how long it takes.
