People will never rise above their own opinion of themselves.
That means you.
If you don’t see yourself as successful in a given area, then when the “threat of success” or opportunity comes, you will self-sabotage to get back to who you think you are.
You will always perform at the level you see yourself.
So the first part of leveling up in your life is to see yourself as being better and believing you can and will.
If you can’t do that, it won’t happen. If you can do that, the rest is easy.
What do you think of you?
Go, Bill and Steve!
Good morning Larry, I’m grateful for all I’ve learned from your “Think Daily” columns. I believe I am the person I am today through the learnings and teachings of people I aspire to be like!! It’s a Great Day to be a Great Day!!
Wise words! I think ” imposter syndrome”…..
I’m 1% better every day. I can and will.
Sometimes when the body self-sabotages it is your gut perceiving something as a dangerous strategic move. I was offered a job over ten years ago and the company had just laid off a significant number of people, some of which I felt were more qualified than me. After passing on the opportunity (because of my gut), I learned the company was sold about 6-9 months later. I certainly would have lost my job after that transaction (yes, you have written a blog on the topic of venture capital companies making acquisitions and not caring about people). Always trust your gut even if it feels like self-sabotage.
