Growth can’t happen so well if the leader –
Needs to be the source of all ideas
Needs to approve every action
Doesn’t hire people smarter than them and empower them
Doesn’t want to grow
Doesn’t provide the resources to grow
Doesn’t want to get out of their comfort zone

I used to have a person that worked for me in my office that did not want anyone working for us that was more intelligent than her. She’d turn right around and complain that she had to work harder than anyone else…. Imagine that! Recognizing that and dealing with it is a must. I look for a “better than me” person every single day. The sun is shining and the snow is melting here in Indiana. I’m thankful for that today!!! Excitement is in the air this morning for the BSI team…
I’m fortunate to work with an enterprise that is conducive to growth. I’ve had the opposite experience as well, and I can tell you it is much better for everyone when this is the case.
