At my company, we have a BIG annual event called CN LIVE! 1500 People come in on X date, and we better be ready and get our projects done – because they are coming! This creates lots of urgency.
With this urgency, we get a LOT done in a short amount of time. Without the urgency of a deadline, I am certain that this same progress would take three times as long.
Create a deadline for your team. Have an event, or plan a presentation – even if it’s to each other. Make a hard date for something to be done. Have a contest or competition that ends at a given time.
