“The boss”. “My supervisor”. When we think about those words we think about a taskmaster who tells us what to do, has their own interests in mind, and corrects us when we aren’t doing it their way.
But there is another attitude leaders can take that will win people over every time. If the boss comes from the place of “I will not let you fail here” and “I will do everything I can to help you succeed here”, this attitude shines through their voice and body language and people can’t miss it.
When people know you are on their side, you have their back and will fight for them, they will want to give their best to you.
I have a lot of experience in this. Think on it. How have you been approaching your people?
