Your Business Recipe

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

You’re in the kitchen and you mix ingredients and get a result.  You take out one ingredient and put another in, and you get a different version.  Then you take another ingredient out, and add two more, and get a different result.

Your business is not much different.  What result do you want?  What do you need to take out?  What do you need to add?

I tried taking out some time because I was putting too much in. It didn’t change the recipe’s result but I did not feel as good. Still trying to figure what’s up.

The only way you can do that is to step back and get the birds eye view. Being in the ground every day makes tweaking your business almost impossible . Most small business guys especially trades people are used to “getting stuff done ” and don’t make really looking at what’s going on a priority – need to develop the discipline of ” not doing”

Eric Gibson

This is a great perspective and one to continuously think about and meditate on. I have also heard it stated as: “What do I need to stop, what do I need to start and what do I need to keep doing?”.
