Addicted to being busy

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

When we just started out, being busy was something we ensured we did so we could survive.  Work hard, work long, don’t stop, multi-task like crazy, and do lots of stuff.

But now we think we should still do that, and it prevents us from stopping to observe, ask ourselves questions, and think strategically.  Our new job awaits us, but we can’t do the old job and the new one at the same time.

Wow! This is so true! My son mentioned that he didn’t think this cabinet company owner worked very hard or fast at a Job site yesterday(lazy). Owner was checking out a install and had his guys make some changes while my son was there working. Got me thinking ( Think Daily?) what am I teaching my son? My son thinks that working hard with your hands and time is what it’s all about! That’s what I thought ( belief), I need to have a sit down talk with him :))) Thanks Larry, now I’m aware !

Guilty as charged.

But it is so sexy to get sucked into the quagmire every day.
