Choose a different set of risks

We are wired to weigh risks and not take them if we can avoid it. But the short-term risks are far more visible and easier for our mind to perceive than long-term ones. The idea that if we make a given decision something we try may not work out today…

Leaders wield magic

Every time you interact with someone you leave them bigger or smaller - and it doesn't take much either way. It is in everyone's interest that you leave them feeling bigger. Do you wield your magic responsibly?

Why?

If you don't have a big enough why, no how is going to help. What does success in what you are trying to do mean to you? What would it mean or feel like to fail? Why do you want to succeed?

Confused leaders should stay quiet

Don't communicate to your group if you are not clear. If you are confused, then being a good communicator will not help.  You will only communicate confusion. Spend your time asking questions of the right people, and understanding the situation and options to make the right decision instead.

Your business and your family

Has your business (and you in your business) had a positive impact on your family, a negative impact, or mixed? What can you do to keep it positive?

The Highest Mountain…

What mountain is toughest to climb - the one outside of you or the one inside of you? How willing are you to step out of your comfort zone and change yourself?

Long-Term Investing

99% of long-term investing is doing nothing. The other 1% will change your life. Do you have that 1% right?  Who are you listening to?

What does the rest of your life look like?

A contractor called me to buy his business.  He'd been in business for 40 years.  He had nothing to show for it.  (I wasn't interested.) He was sad, tired, and broke. If your business doesn't change, what does the rest of your life look like?
