Service doesn’t start after the prospect signs a contract and becomes a customer.  It starts when a prospect is shopping and isn’t a customer yet.  Micromanage the details then so they experience great service before they decide to do business with you, and that’s what they’ll be making a decision on.

Bad service providers create their own recession.  Good ones create their own expansion.

Do you OWN your dream?

Renters can give up on their dream, because they aren’t committed to ownership.

But when you own the dream, giving up never crosses your mind.

Quality People

People come, and people go.  Employees, vendors, customers. But over time, the ones that will be the most valuable to you’re organization and the people in and orbiting it, are people of fine character and motivations.  Surround yourself with quality people and you’ll go far.

If quality people don’t stay, remember that they’re trying to surround themselves with quality people too.  If you want a crowd of quality people around you, you have to be one of them.

Outside Your Control?

Life and markets are full of unpredictablitiy.  But sometimes we create a business model (our dream) that is so dependent upon the whims of one body or event (a government, an agency, a politician, a tragedy or lack thereof, etc…)  You’re one assumption or decision away from perishing.  

This isn’t my bag.  But if it’s yours, you have to know it going in – your clock is ticking.

Problems 'R' Us

Our problem is we think we aren’t supposed to have problems. It’s all problems.  One damn thing after another.

A mature leader doesn’t processes these issues as “problems” and take them emotionally.  They have their internal gyroscope to keep them steady day in and day out as challenges come up. To them, these “problems” are just “leadership work”; what the leader is here for. 

– And that is what you are here for.  Right?

The Business Aritst

Your business is a canvas.  It’s blank at first, then you add color and dimension and character.  

If you stand back and see what you’ve created, you can decide to paint over any part at anytime with a different color or shade or shape.

It’s not done until you say it’s done.

Who is training your people each week?  Do they really know what they are doing?  Are their intentions good (to build the skills of all team members to their highest potential for the job they are in)?  Do you need a different or additional source of training?
