Self Confident Leaders

When you are an entrepreneur; the boss; the supposed leader, and you are getting your butt kicked many days, it’s easy to feel mousy and unsure at times.  If this becomes a habit, you will die a death by indecision.  You’ll never do the necessary work of a great leader when you feel unconfident.

Perhaps you don’t know the answer to your present problems, but be confident that you can listen, go after and find the answers, recognize them, and then put them into practice through your staff.  

Believe in your own abilities to lead, and others will too.

Shop yourself

Call your own office (use a friend on speaker phone if they will recognize your voice) and ask some questions that a prospect would ask.  Go ahead – see what happens.

Do your employees know what you expect?

When was the last time you told your employees how you want your customers to FEEL when they do business with your company?

If you told them right now, what would you say?

-and necessary.  What are yours?

Satisfying Sunset

Yesterday I blasted through my “to do” list by completely eliminating any procrastination and transition time between tasks.  I was in motion and on task all day, and in the end I felt great having accomplished so much, including a high percentage of “legacy” (high value) work.

Today, it’s your turn.  Put all those important things you’ve been putting off on the list – and get moving.  Stay moving, and love it.  No transition time.  One thing done well, then smoothly and quickly onto the next.  You’re in charge and in control.

It will be a satisfying sunset.

When will you be happy?

If you’ll only be happy when you accomplish all your goals, then you’ll never be happy.  Remember to enjoy the journey – because that’s all you’ve got – the journey.

Not choosing is a choice

As your business develops, you’ll be faced with all kinds of choices that should be made.  When you don’t make a choice and put it off, you are chosing the results that come with that choice.

Be decisive, and keep things moving.

If you don’t cause the change in your business, it will “happen” to you without your input; and you’re probably not going to like it that way.

Incomplete businesses

Many of us built our businesses by doing the things we were good at and felt comfortable doing.  But we have an incomplete and dysfunctional business because we left parts out of the machine; the parts we were not good at, felt uncomfortable with, and avoided.

Being a good business builder means we have to get other talents to do the parts we know we are not good at.

Forward or backward

Once you stop pushing for growth & improvement and start treading water, you’ll go backwards, no matter how much defense you play.  Keep pushing, no matter what you have accomplished.  If you don’t want to, it’s time to get out, because that’s not going to work in this game.
