Say no to get more done

One of the great secrets to time management and productivity is to do less.  Say no to things you don’t need to do.  Say no to things that are less important.  Say no to things that take up time but that won’t matter tomorrow.  Say no to things you could ask someone else to do.  Say no to things that just don’t need to be done.

By doing this, you’ll have more time to spend on the most important things – those things that will take you toward your major goal.

Time management is not to increase the speed of life – it’s to increase the quality of life.

When you are trying to get more things done in a day, ask yourself, is going faster in this direction helping me? Is it making me happier?

Micro-goals

You know what you want your business to be…but it is so far away from what and where you are now, it looks discouraging and you don’t feel any progress toward it.

This is why you have to break the big goal down into micro goals. What are the steps to getting there?  What is the next step to getting there?  What do you have to do TODAY to move in that direction?  Write it down on your daily to do list, and get to it.  Do that one thing before anything else.  

By making progress on micro goals, and being able to check it off, you’ll feel progress and momentum, and feel some satisfaction.  It’s a journey, and you have to show up each day and take the next step.

Focus and Manifest

Whatever we focus on we tend to manifest.  

What’s your biggest problem – the one that if you could fix would make a huge difference to your organization and allow you to go farther and faster with less effort?

Focus on it. What would be a plan to fix it? Start writing. Who do I need to get ideas from? What and where can I learn about others who have had this problem and overcome it?  When will I have a meeting about it? Who else in my company can I get focused on this problem to help me? What blocks of time will I schedule to work on it? What goal can I create around the solution? How can I measure the steps to fixing it? Can I create a public scoreboard?  

Get on it.  Focus your attention.

If you want your net worth to go up, your self-worth has to go up first.

Work on you.  Make yourself proud and valuable.
