I was given advice of this nature very early in my career. It is important and easy to do. Always look forward to your daily messages and really enjoying the adventures of the Baja on the companion site.

Be nice to others. Should be a given but unfortunately it is not. Taking that extra moment to listen, smile, and be nice can make all the difference in someone’s day. Thanks for the reminder!

Teaching your family is a very important role.

Be transparent but selflessly help them to make better choices or to see hidden opportunities and paths even if you don’t get anything in return at that moment. Listen, help, be kind and supportive …

Focus on the sales call ! Make it about them and listen. I hear this all the time from clients! “ They aren’t listening to me”

Each day, I look for one item (topic/person) which I know nothing about, and spend 10-30 minutes researching that item. Often times the daily topic will come out of a discussion on the previous day.

Today’s topic was a person, Larry Janesky. Time well spent.

I listen to podcasts while driving or at the gym. Three of my favourites are: salesman.red, Manager Tools and The One Thing.

The average CEO reads 60+ books a year in order to stay at the leading edge of self improvement. I personally read 4 to 5 books every month and journal about what is relevant to my life. How can I take the knowledge and apply it my personal and work life.

If you’ve heard of mentorbox… I think a similar thing would be a great way to engage people with specific books that pertain to our network. Larry could recommend a book each month and supply his thoughts and application of its teachings to our network of dealers.

Basement Systems Book club from a mentors (Larry) perspective would be something I would be interested in!

A good sense of smell well attended to will keep a person out of a lot of unnecessary trouble. There have only been a few times when I have disregarded the inner sense that did not turn into trouble. I would imagine that means there have been a few times when I followed the sense and lost an opportunity.

It saddens me to see and experience that male supervisors, managers, bosses often ignore a womans view or solutions presented to solve a problem only because it does not make sense to them. Even though, according to many studies, women during biological evolution developed extra sharp senses to enable safe child bearing and nurturing which they exhibit while making choices and managing their day to day activities at work as well.

Men are usually described as agressive, competitive, self reliant and risk taking , while women are characterized as supportive, nurturing, intuitive, sensitive and communicative.
According to studies both men and women are capable of the full range of behavior however, we are still plagued by disparities in perception and behavior that make the internal company processes unnecessarily difficult.

Team work and supporting each other at work is the goal.

Thank you for the reminder, I am often guilty of this kind of behavior myself.

A schedule with assigned tasks is a great way to complete a project but never allow your posted completion date to be the same as the desired completion date. Build in some wriggle room that your employees are not aware of to compensate for the fact that we are all human and unexpected things do tend to happen, quiet often.

Every coin has two sides or two sides of the same coin meaning there are different ways of looking at or dealing with the same situation.

Communication to solve a problem is communication regardless if it goes down between a leader and its emlpoyees, two partners or a husband and wife.

I’ve been teaching for years the concept that if you aren’t different from your competitor, then there’s really no reason the industry needs both of you. Eventually someone loses when there is little differentiation. Thank you for these brilliant posts.

I have and do enjoy Think daily a great deal. My father is suffering with liver cancer. He passed a book along to me the other day, Words of Jesus for men. This book and Think Daily are inspiring me to look toward the word each day in managing my business and my life daily. I have not gotten the daily blog in several days and wish I could receive it daily and early so I could do my daily devotion before I have to deal with my business daily.
