Instead, ask “It makes sense to go forward then.  What do you say we do it?”  

“WE”.  It’s a lot easier for them to agree to a decision, that to make it themselves.

“I’d say let’s schedule it for Friday.  What do you say?”

“It will look great!  What do you say we get this going right away?”

“You can see that leaving this out will save some money.  Is cutting corners so we can shave the price down something you’re going to want me to do today?”

Where does what you want come from?

Selling well, producing a quality product, answering the phone properly, courtesy and respect, cleanliness and order, and the basics of your trade.

Why try to get deeper or fancier if your team doesn’t execute the fundamentals well?

Excellence on the basics will take you very far indeed.  Train on the fundamentals and keep talking about them.

If a leader is always fixing it themselves, then when they turn their back it will break again.  

Empower others to fix things and not break them.  It’s the only way to sustainable quality, growth and sanity.

The leader’s job is to build more leaders, not more followers.
