Are you seeking status?

Status is an old zero-sum game.  To be the winner there has to be a loser – you have to put someone else down.  “I am better than you.”  It could be a title at work, or one you give yourself, or one you or others think is earned by owning or being something.

When you seek status you become angry because someone else is always going to be higher than you, and doing better than you.  You are putting your happiness outside yourself and you can never be happy that way.

It doesn’t matter what everyone else is doing.

Instead, just make you proud and beat your own yesterday.  

Mastery

You do not understand something if you can’t express it and write it down on paper.

If you can’t write it down, it has no form your mind can go to work on.

Reading something is one thing.  Being able to teach it to someone else is another.

You don’t have to master everything like this, but you do need to master the things that are going to move the needle in your business.

Can you get up early enough (go to bed early enough) so you can read some, plan some and get your thoughts together on what the best day would look like for you to move towards your major goals?

What are your major business problems?

Cause and effect works even if you don’t think so.

It’s like gravity.  If you step off a ten-story building you’ll always go down.  It doesn’t matter if you know about gravity, understand gravity or even believe in gravity – it works every time.

Cause and effect.  How did you cause your situation? 

What would be the cause of what you want?  

Do that.

The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction says that you are a living magnet.  You will attract into your life things, people, and situations that are consistent with your major dominant thoughts.

Luck is when preparedness meets opportunity.

Successful people get criticized

If you are successful, or are trying to be, you are being the exception.  You are doing things others won’t do.  You are not doing what they do.  You think differently and value different things.

Because of this, some others, (even your own family members) will criticize you, tell you that you are unreasonable, rash, and foolish. 

Ignore them.   

The only way to silence them is to conform to them, and that is not what you are trying to do.  It’s not that they are wrong or bad; you are just trying to be the best you and follow a different dream than they are.  You don’t have to explain it. 

Sift their words for anything useful.  Forget the rest.

Ignore your critics.  Just move forward.
