Nobody becomes successful by accident

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

If you want to be a good sailor, you study sailing.  If you want to be a good investor, you study investing.

If you want to be a good business builder, you study business.  If you want to be a good team builder, you learn about team building.  If you want to be a good leader, you study leadership.

What books are YOU reading?  What audios are you listening to in your car RIGHT NOW?

Absolutely love these “Think Daily” thoughts each morning. They’re a great reminder that we only fail when we fail to learn.

As a sailor, I agree with everything you said (I attend sailing/racing clinics to become more competitive on the water). One other thing I would add is participate on webinars related to your industry. If the speakers are good, you can send them a note an hour after the webinar via Linked In complimenting them and asking them to connect with you. Once they are in your network, they almost always are willing to pay it forward and help you with questions you might have related to your industry which helps you “navigate” saving you time and helping you be more successful.

Thank you for today’s thought; I agree. I am reading _The Personal MBA_ by Josh Kaufman.

Being a business owner and technician I found all the self help books I have read or listen to have the same message with a different story from the perspective of the auther. Be honest, genuine, know your services, and know your numbers. The technical books I have read are living documents that are updated based on exsperts every three years. I find If you keep up on new technologies, codes and standards you are really ahead of the game and your competition. Be the best at what ever you choose! Change is good!
