Steady your impulses

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Leaders get the bad news.  They get the big challenges nobody else can fix.

All day long there is news and information – good, bad, sideways, issues, decisions….

As a leader, I have to be careful to handle all of that without getting sucked in and letting my emotions bob up and down on the waves.

I have to be steady.  I have to lead.  To guide my team to a future I believe in that does not exist yet. To make calm from the storm, clarity from confusion – and use my values and principles to do it.

I know I cannot process all that comes with my job if I am uneasy, in personal turmoil, or have clouded, unstable thoughts.

The leader makes all the difference in an organization.

Steady your impulses.
