Enough of these, but not too much

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Having the right qualities in the right amounts (at the right times) to be a good business leader can be a tricky thing.

You will ride up on your leadership, or pay for your mistakes.

You need confidence – but too much and it is arrogance.

Confidence comes from preparation – but too much preparation and you delay.

You need persistence, but not stubbornness.

You need to be firm, but not rigid.

You need a positive outlook, without being in denial.

There is what works long-term, and what doesn’t.

Self-awareness, and the willingness and ability to adjust are rare things.

Can you see yourself?

Great info.. I find myself adjusting every time I start to discipline. Even when I’m working on myself, I ask myself if I’m doing the right thing by me! I can’t count how many times I have sat down to send an email and then decided to make it a face-to-face conversation instead. I learned to trust my instincts a very long time ago.

Agreed. It’s a recipe, that sometimes has to change depending on the circumstances.

Go, Harry!
