Have you heard of Edward Tufte – he is a professor at Yale and does a day long class in communicating data visually. He espouses sparklines and many other engaging data graphics.
I’ve taken the course a couple of times and always loved it. I don’t know if he is still teaching it. He has written 3 or 4 books on the visual representation of data.
