We’ve been talking about the four different personality styles. Now while there are classic achetypes who fit on in category perfectly, most of us are blends. For example I am a Director/Thinker. But I can be a Relater if I am with kids or family, or a Socializer if I am at a party with people I know.
You could be mostly a Relater, and partially a Socializer (both open) and also be a Thinker when the situation requires it, but have a hard time being or getting along with Directors.
No one style is better than another. There are about equal numbers of each style among the population. Isn’t that interesting. We need each style. We need Directors to lead and take charge of getting things done. We need Socailizers to show us how to have fun and do jobs that require interacting with people. We need Relaters to care for others, and we need Thinkers to figure things out and keep track of things.
Did you ever wonder why you get along easily and comfortably with certain people, and have a hard time understanding or relating to others? This is why. Some people have personalities like yours, some are kind of like you, and some are opposite.
Other people have everything we want. Love, money, things, business, opportunities – everything. Those that can get along with the widest variety of people will have an easier time getting what they want, selling their ideas, and leading people. Those that just stay with people they feel most comfortable with and avoid people that are not like them, will be more limited.
So how do you get along or connect with everyone?
Answer tomorrow!
Understanding and adaptability.
