Culture Trumps Strategy

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

If your culture stinks, you can’t execute on any strategy.

How is your culture?

Do people want to be there?

Do they feel empowered, appreciated, and want to do their best?

Get on that.

This is SO true!! It’s just pure and simple FACT!
You cannot create positive change without an embedded felt need to get better – and when the prevailing culture is ‘good enough is good enough’, it takes SO MUCH energy and education to create a desire for improvement…

I can also confess this on a personal level in more areas than I care to discuss, as a personal word for culture is ‘mindset’ which colors (prejudices) our thought processes.
You have to WANT to get better than you are now to feel the need to improve – then it’s not what you’re willing to do, but what you WILL do that matters.
Great post, Larry! Thanks!!
