We need to train our team on what to do if they make a mistake.
Here’s what I tell my team –
1) Admit it quickly.
2) Genuinely apologize.
3) Fix it.

This statement is so true. I made a mistake at work and quickly admitted it and apologize. I fixed it by never doing it again. But I must say that going to your Goal Setting Seminar was such an eye opener for me and I want to thank you for bringing me to the next level. I may be older but I’m not done. Thank you

If it was a BIG mistake, use it as a teaching moment, if it was small, everyone knows what happened and going back is a waste of time.

Selling strategies are a must. They are not my forte but that does not entitle me to mock or look down at people who choose that as their main profession. Realizing the brutal effect my words may had was another aha moment where I saw the downside of expressing myself.
‘I am sorry if my word stung’.
That is all I could do to minimize the effect of their blow. Words are powerful and we all have soft spots.
Communication was the intention but unintentionally I may have touched a nerve. I am not perfect. Opening up and trusting someone with views and experiences sometimes results in a flood.
Can the person swim?
I do not know, but I will shortly find out.
I will share my life raft if the swimmer can reach it.
It was the only solution I could think of to fix my mistake.
