The cameras and the microphones (part 1)

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

How do we prevent our minds from going negative? How do we keep from thinking about unproductive, unsettling things that don’t help us get to our goals?

Your mind is a computer that responds to what you put in it day in and day out. Information, images, commands, and questions – it doesn’t care the quality of the input – it will go to work processing whatever we put in. So how do we control this thing in us, this thing we call us – the very program we run on?

It sounds like one of life’s great questions and perhaps mysteries. But it’s really not that hard at all. Most of the information we take in is through our two cameras (eyes) and microphones (ears). Just control what we put in front of our eyes and what sounds our ears hear. That’s it.

Work hard to prevent the negative things from going in, be intentional about the positive thoughts and ideas you are feeding the machine and use positive self talk to help overcome obstacles and barriers and you are on the way upward. From there you can continue to grow and help people in new ways.
