Begin Again

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

As we operate our business over the years, we patch and plug and add-on.  We modify and tweak and paint over old methods and ideas and processes.  Sometimes we create a purring masterpiece; but often we wind up with a patchwork that’s not so elegant.

It’s like cleaning up – again.  We stuff closets and move old things around. But if we moved to a new location, the new place is really NEW!  A blank canvas – how refreshing!  (I’m not talking about moving necessarily, it’s just a metaphor.)

Do you need to begin again on big parts of your business?  Forget about how you’ve always done it and rethink and recreate?

Yes, thanks, Larry for these great tips and reminders and for taking your time to write them for us. I agree that in business we need to constantly improve on what we did before. It might mean leaving something out or doing something differently as you said. I believe it is part of the Japanese philosophy of constant improvement in life. Thanks again, Larry.

Funny how one action leads to a thought which leads back to inspect a previous action and come up with this other mesmerizing thought … My mind sometimes gets carried away and I find myself facing a wall that has a secret door in the middle. Some mental games are just pure cruel but some mental connections create these occasional unique scalp and body tingles.
